Book Description

Liam Quinn is talented, gorgeous, and one of the biggest movie stars in the world.

He’s also only man Elissa Holt has ever truly loved.

After being out of her life for six years, he and his gorgeous fiancé are set to star in the new Broadway show Elissa is stage managing. Both Elissa and Liam try to ignore the connection they both still feel, but when late night rehearsals bring them together, the line between what is and what could have been get blurred.

Elissa knows that falling for Liam again would be a tragedy in the making, but as any good romantic will tell you, love doesn’t always follow the script.

My Review: 5 stars

“Jesus Christ.” He rakes his fingers through his hair. “Could you please stop talking to me like you’re my bank manager? Like we don’t even know each other?”
“I don’t know you anymore.”
“You’re the only one who’s ever known me.”

There a rare times in the world of book reviewing where you come across a story that completely takes your breath away. It captivates you from the very first page and you become so invested that you forget what day it is. This happened to me for the first time this year and I honestly couldn’t be happier! I was so excited to read this book and it was more than I ever expected.

Wicked Heart by Leisa Rayven will give you everything you want in a romance and more! I absolutely loved this book. I fell so hard from the very first chapter and by the time it was over, my heart was still catching up with my head. This book took me on a wonderful rollercoaster of emotions that kept the plot line interesting and me completely hooked.

Ms Rayven knows how to write a story. She slowly reels you in and then slaps you in the face with a twist that you didn’t even know the story needed. Even though a few time outs were needed throughout the story, I just couldn’t bare the thought of putting the book down until I had finished it.

As you read the description of this book (above), you get the general idea of what the story is about. Liam is a huge movie star who is engaged to his co-star. Elissa (heroine + former love interest) is going to be managing a new Broadway show that Liam and his fiancee will be performing in. So at this stage, you know the entire thing is going to be a complete train-wreck. Perfect! It’s exactly the type of book I love.

It’s angsty, funny, heartbreaking and incredibly beautiful. The ups and the downs balance out the entire feel of the book and you are left feeling completely overwhelmed with what you’ve just read. It’s a stunning romance that I really recommend for anyone who loves those second-chance stories. The ones where the hero needs to redeem himself. Prove himself to his lost love. And watching him do it is not only scary, but beautiful.

You don’t need to have read books one & two to understand this story. It’s a complete standalone. But I highly recommend you do it anyway. Albeit before or after this one, you need to read Bad Romeo + Broken Juliet. Leisa Rayven’s books should not be missed. Not by any lover of romance.

“In that moment, he’s not a movie star, and I’m not his stage manager. We’re the same two desperately connected people who fell down a rabbit hole years earlier and climbed out forever changed.”
