BOOK REVIEW: Room for You (Cranberry Inn #1) by Beth Ehemann

Room for You

Kacie Jensen has one main priority in her life: raising her twin daughters, Lucy and Piper. Ever since her ex—the girls’ father—vanished four years ago, Kacie’s sworn to keep her head in her studies and her heart out of trouble. Moving back home to her mother’s bed-and-breakfast had seemed like the best way to start over.

But when hockey star Brody Murphy washes up on the front steps of the Cranberry Inn during a raging storm, he awakens a hunger in Kacie that she’s long forgotten…and he opens her eyes to a life she never thought was possible. With so much more to lose this time around, can Kacie trust her heart to make the right decision?

What a beautiful, sweet, heartfelt, swoony romance novel! I absolutely loved this book. There was everything I look for in a romance novel and more in this story and I honestly enjoyed reading this soooooooo much! Beth Ehemann has done a wonderful job telling Kacie and Brody’s story with the most incredible emotion, humour and just enough drama to make this one of the best reads for 2014 so far. Oh, and the swoon, OH MY GOD the swoon level in this book is off the charts! Brody has quickly jumped up the list of favourite book boyfriends of all time with all his gorgeousness <3

Life is a sum made up of small parts, Kacie. Some are good; some are bad. You and the girls are definitely one of the good. The best good there is and I’ll fight like hell to keep you here.

Kacie Jensen is a 24 year old single mum to five-year old twins Lucy and Piper. They are the most gorgeous little girls I have ever read about and I wanted to take them home to play with my daughter. She would love them! Kacie lives with her mum and they run the Cranberry Inn together. Between helping her mum, being a mum and studying nursing, Kacie doesn’t have much time for herself, let alone a relationship.

After the twins’ dad left them just before their first birthday, Kacie completely broke and having her own father leave her and her mother when she was young, it has left scars on Kacie’s heart she thought would never heal. Until Brody.

Brody Murphy (a professional hockey player) stumbles across the Inn completely unexpectedly when a storm closes in and his ute get stuck in Kacie’s drive-way (thinking it was a road that lead to somewhere else), and therefore left Brody stranded with Kacie, the girls, her mum and the other guests at the Inn until the weather clears up.

This was the beginning of their story.

Beth Ehemann writes a beautiful story of self growth, acceptance, understanding, forgiveness, love and friendship. It is written deeper than just a love story. The characters are perfectly matched and totally made for each other. Each one teaching the other more about themselves than what they ever thought they would learn.

I just want to take a minute to talk about Brody. I have read so many books where the male character has some dark secret, or something they are afraid might come out and destroy the relationship.

Not Brody.

Brody is the perfect kind of hero. His patience, love and complete devotion towards Kacie and the girls is nothing short of amazing and his compassion and understanding of Kacie’s past is extraordinary. When Kacie tries to keep him at arms length for fear of getting hurt, Brody never gives up. He will never give up on her and you can feel it through the pages.

Kacie didn’t know me, how could she possibly know that I was a dead-end road? She was making a snap judgement based on what I did for a living and if I wanted any chance with her, I had to show her who I was.

He is honestly just perfect.

What Kacie didn’t know was that she may have met the one person on the planet more stubborn than her. When I set my sights on something, I get it one way or another. I’d never given up easily and I sure as hell wasn’t starting now.

My heart flutters just writing this review! There is so much I absolutely love about this book. It had me smiling so much my face hurt! The writing just flows, the story is fun yet filled with enough drama to keep it more than entertaining. It is incredibly romantic and had the butterflies in my stomach going crazy for majority of the story. This book is funny! Oh I laughed so much. This entire book has been pulled together perfectly and I cannot recommend it enough.

She nudged my shoulder without letting go of my hand. Any physical contact with her was a bonus. She could give me a noogie and I’d consider it a win.

I am just about to start book two. This does leave you with a tiny cliffhanger, but ROOM FOR MORE is available for you to jump into straight away.

This book was a perfect 5** STAR read. You will not be disappointed. You will laugh, you will cry and Brody will swoon the panties off you!!
