What’s the story about?

Leah Marino hasn’t been on a date in two years. After discovering the man she loved had manipulated and deceived her, she refuses to even entertain the idea of a relationship. Instead, she focuses her attention on taking care of her family, a role she’s assumed since the death of her mother and the one place she knows her kindness won’t be taken advantage of again.

When a nostalgic trip back to her childhood home results in a chance encounter with Danny DeLuca, a smart-mouthed mechanic who’s as attractive as he is mysterious, Leah’s carefully cultivated walls begin to crumble. She finds herself unexpectedly drawn to Danny, despite his unreliable behavior and mixed signals.

But Danny has a secret…

One that could shake Leah’s already precarious foundation and bring her world crashing down around her. Suddenly, she’s faced with an incredibly difficult decision–is she willing to risk everything for the chance at finding the love she’s always wanted? Or are some obstacles just too big for the heart to overcome?

What did I think?

“You’re making me crazy,” she panted. “I know,” he said, licking the spot beneath her ear. “You have no idea how sexy you are right now.”

Oh my hotness!! I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE this book! WOW!

I’m on a huge high at the moment, coming off quite a few amazing reads and this one is definitely one to brag about. In fact, before you even continue reading this review, just go get it. Seriously.

I want to break this up into pieces for you but I don’t really know where to start. Priscilla Glenn is soooooo good. Her stories are unique in their own special way, and I’m falling in love with every single one of them.

This book had me smiling – like really smiling – for so much of the story. It’s beautifully written, fast paced and it definitely keeps you guessing. The synopsis tells you enough of what the story’s about and we know that Danny has a secret that he’s keeping from Leah, and honestly? I thought I had it quite early in the book. Boy was I wrong! The revelation had me so worked up with emotions, I didn’t know whether to cry or scream or give them both a cuddle.

Leah is such a wonderful heroine. She’s bright, strong, sweet, so unbelievably caring and someone who really deserves a happily every after.

Danny is hurting, and hiding a secret that could potentially destroy his relationship with Leah, but that doesn’t stop him from being completely swoon-worthy, so incredibly sexy and oh so gorgeous.

Priscilla Glenn has written this story so well, it honestly felt like I was reading a story like this for the very first time. The back-and-forth between the characters is fantastic. Each character in the book has their own unique personality that just shines when they are in the spotlight. The feeling and emotion that came through the words was an experience like no other. I was hurting, I was crying, I was laughing, I was holding my breath and I was swooning with every single page turned.

She laughed before she shook her heard at him. She had the prettiest laugh. It made him want to spend the rest of the afternoon finding ways to get her to do it again.

This book is just beautiful, its believable, its heartwarming, and completely breathtaking. I had the biggest smile on my face when i turned the last page. It really was such a pleasure to read and the breath of fresh air anyone is looking for when stuck in a book slump. You really need to pick this one up and just read it. No distractions, nothing. This book will go down as one of the best reads for 2014, and one I will definitely want to pick up and read again.
