Sidney has a rough life. Her mom is incredibly abusive both mentally and physically. One day, she’s awarded the escape she’s always wanted and thrust into a world she barely understands. Each day is a struggle to feel human and not terrified of everything around her. Sidney has rules. Routines. Structure. It’s the only way she can cope. When a handsome, yet mysterious stranger inserts himself into her life, Sidney begins to come apart at the seams. She’s having trouble sticking to her habits and it’s threatening to shred any hope of a normal life to pieces. Will this stranger help her in ways no other person can, or will things get worse for her? He comes with his own set of problems and secrets he’s unwilling to share. Will they work together through the mess of their pasts or will they get caught up enabling each other? Will their toxic relationship ultimately be destined for demise?
K Webster’s books are always ones I look forward reading and when I heard about this book (a loooong time ago) I was hanging for it. After reading her Breaking the Rules Series I thought I had a fair idea of what to expect– sexy as hell alphas, amazing sex scenes, loveable heroines– but after finishing Apartment 2B, I had the shock of my life. This book was completely different, in such a wonderful way. It brought all kinds of emotions out of me and took me on a journey that I learnt a lot from.
Sidney is one broken girl and she truly broke my heart. Her up bringing was not ideal. In fact, it was down right horrific and at some parts of the book I honestly didn’t think she would ever heal. Liam is her somewhat gorgeously ‘creepy’ neighbour who pops up out of nowhere not long after she moves into apartment 2B. I thought the characters were well developed and slowly you grew to learn more and more about both of them.
Apartment 2B was fast paced and real easy to follow. It never left me with questions although it had me guessing what was coming up next on more than one occasion.
I really don’t want to say anything about the story, the blurb gives you what I feel is enough to go into the story. Let me point out though, this book has a small paranormal element to it, but not in the ‘vampires and werewolf’ kind. I can’t really explain it without giving the story away but I just want you to know to be a little bit open minded about this. It’s still has all the elements of a wonderful romance in it, just with a twist. And I honestly loved it. It was different, caught me off guard and I think, fit the story perfectly.
K Webster writes a truly wonderful story filled with emotion, suspense and enough romance to make this one of those books you will really enjoy on a cold rainy day. So put the kids to bed, pour yourself a cup of hot cocoa and settle in and fall in love with all that is Liam & Sidney.
**This book is a complete standalone novel.
K Webster’s Breaking the Rules Series #1 Broken, #2 Wrong & #3 Scarred should be read in this order.
#2 Wrong & #3 Scarred are NOT standalone novels and are completely separate to Apartment 2B .
