What to read next: 5 books to help you cure a book hangover!

We’ve all been there.

That dreaded book hangover that hits us booknerds without any warning what-so-ever. I guess in a way, it’s not as if I don’t want one. Having one is a reminder of the epic-ness that was the last book you just read. And we all love finding those beauties! But sometimes while in the middle of one, it’s really hard to find a book that doesn’t fall flat, even though on another day when your mind is clear and ready for more, it would have been a 5 star winner.

So today I’m going to tell you about my top 5 books that have -in the past- cured me of my book hangover (and sometimes thrown me head first into another one!)

1. Mister Romance by Leisa Rayven

This book was the biggest mood enhancer of 2017 for me. Absolutely unputdownable goodness filled with sexiness beyond explanation. Max Riley is to DIE for and if you’ve yet to meet him, you’re sure as hell missing out on it ALL. Leisa Rayven is one of those automatic one-click authors for me, so Mister Romance has ginormous expectations riding on it and it delivered better than I could have imagined.

2. Backstage Pass by Olivia Cunning

Gah! Seriously guys. If this ain’t the hottest book you’ll read this year, please point me in the direction of your recommendation because holy sexiness batman!!!. The boys from the Sinner on Tour series are definitely one of the best hangover cures any one of us could ask for. In fact, I will be re-reading this book the second I finish writing this blog post because it’s been waaaaay too long between reads.

3. Loving Mr. Daniels by Brittainy C. Cherry

Brittainy C. Cherry delivers one of the best teacher/student stories I have read since Slammed. This story went deeper than just the love between two people. The underlying story that is woven between these pages took my breath away. I remember feeling absolutely stunned with what I had just read after finishing the last page. And then turning back to the beginning and doing it all over again. Although this may leave you with another hangover, I promise you guys, this one is so worth it.

4. The Wall of Winnipeg and Me by Mariana Zapata

I cannot even begin to tell you how much love I have for this book. Mariana Zapata is who we call the ‘Queen of slow burn’ and she delivers an absolute masterpiece with this book. Aiden and Vanessa are one of those epic couples that you refer to as if you know them personally. They are that awesome. If you haven’t read anything by Mariana, read this one. Then prepare the reading budget because you won’t stop at one!

5. Kissing Tolstoy by Penny Reid

Penny Reid is a very funny woman. And if you’ve ever had the pleasure of spending a great amount of time with her like I have, you will notice that it just comes naturally to her. Her personality oozes with coolness and I seriously love her so much. She doesn’t need to try hard to make people laugh, she just does. And Kissing Tolstoy is just one of those books that is effortlessly great. I flew through this book at the end of last year and it was just so ‘feel good’ funny, I tell everyone who is ever in a book funk to give this one a go. You won’t regret it!
